Online Horse Racing – Playing The Daily Double Always A Fun Alternative

Posted February 16, 2012 – 7:23 pm in: Horse Racing Betting 101

One of the most popular per head terms in and around horse racing tracks is the “Daily Double”, which refers to a wager that is similar to an exacta, but only you are working with two different races. Most of the tracks offer Daily Doubles on the opening two races and the last two races on a given card, but some tracks also now have “Rolling Doubles”, which means that you can play any two specific races. The wager must always be made before the running of the first two Daily Double races. An example of a Daily Double could be if you play a double for $2 on #1-#4, where in this case the #1 horse would have to win the first race and the #4 horse would have to win the second race. If you wanted to use two horses in each race, it would like this: #1,#2 and #1,#2. Using two horses in each race with a $2 increment would make the wager investment a total of $8.

While it may not be the most popular sports betting option at the track just yet, the Daily Double is a good way to find value and often times it seems easier to hit one than it is to take down at exacta. Many would agree that it is easier to figure out the horse that will win in two races than it is to pick which horses will finish first and second respectively in a given race, so it makes sense to give the Daily Double a shot on a site listed on the sportsbook reviews today.
