Online horse betting is growing in popularity as sports handicappers look for a change in gambling genre. From straight bets to the more exotic types of wagers, horse betting enthusiasts have a plethora of options to choose from when wagering on each race. For new horse racing fans here is a guide on how to bet on each race.

Straight Bets:

Straight bets essentially are seen as individual bets. In a similar fashion to the money line sports bet, gamblers are simply required to pick a horse which they believe will win the race. However, it should be noted that there are mini genres within straight bets that allow for more money to be made by the bettor.

For instance, in a win bet stand to make a lot of money if a horse with large odds wins the race outright. Such as in the Breeders Cup Turf race, the winning horse was a 20 to one odds winner. Meaning to say if you bet a minimum of two dollars on that horse, you would have won $40.

There is no betonline.com scam – there are bets called place, and show bets, which allow bettors to win if the horse they chose finished anywhere from first to third place. If a horse finishes in first and you bet the horse to show, you would collect all three amounts for win, place and show.

Exotic Bets:

The main difference between an exotic and a straight bet is that where as you would be wagering on one horse to win the race outright in a straight bet, you are betting on the final finishes of multiple horses in an exotic bet. Exotic bets vary from an exacta which means you pick the exact places of two horses, to a superfecta which allows you to pick the exact place of four horses.
